deconversion

Although I actually de-converted about 4 or 5 years ago, I only recently decided I was an atheist. For the most part over the last few years, I spent it not even thinking about religion or non-religion. I just lived my life because I needed a break from it all after living 35 of my 40 years in the church.

My husband and I were always very active in the church. He is also an atheist. He deconverted shortly before me. I had to get all of the "religion" out of my system before I could funciton normally again. Just this past summer I decided to take the next step and declare that I was first an agnostic (some times it takes steps) and then an atheist.

I'm enjoying reading through the various topics on the forum and look forward to joining them.
